TRIAL Workshop

The traditional umbrella “WAGASA“ used to be intrinsically linked to the life and culture of the Japanese people. Various types existed for different purposes but despite being an indispensable object in the daily life over many centuries, the traditional umbrella slowly lost its popularity as times changed the Japanese lifestyle. Nowadays, the wagasa has almost disappeared but what exactly is the Japanese umbrella that used to be so familiar with? At Hiyoshiya, we would like more people to know about the wagasa and we are now offering four types of workshops:
(1)Mini Wagasa Workshop
(2)Mini Wagasa Collage Workshop (also for children aged 3 years and older)
